Combined with a Garmin portable navigation unit the CONNECT expands into a two-way communication system. Now you can communicate with the driver 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week. Similar to text-messaging, drivers may use their Garmin's touch screen keyboard to send a message or record notes about their location. Besides sending messages, you can forward new locations to drivers, instantly translated into turn-by-turn, voice-prompted directions to the new destination.

You need a GPS-Buddy web based services subscription

Whether you choose to use the GPS-Buddy CONNECT as a stand-alone unit or in combination with your Garmin device, you need a GPS-Buddy web based services subscription to monitor your vehicles' activity, any time, anywhere. This subscription includes monthly charges for the CONNECT's mobile data card.

Via your online account on the GPS-Buddy website, you can track the vehicle movements in real-time, contact them, or access the historical activity data. Your vehicle's location, speed, and status is transmitted to the GPS-Buddy website every 60 seconds. The data may be viewed at any time, anywhere on any PC or PDA with internet access.
